Welcome to Our Blog!
Join us as we travel from the UK to Cambodia to complete 10 days of charity work!
Hello readers! It's Romy and Toni here, and we are representing the charity, Grow, in our trip to Pursat, Cambodia. After finishing our January exams last week, we are escaping rainy Exeter and heading across the world to see the result of 2 years with Grow.
Joining Grow means improving the overall nutrition and health of residents in rural areas of Cambodia, keeping children in school, and reducing the impacts of climate change. We do this by equipping Cambodian school children and teachers with knowledge of self-sufficient skills surrounding agricultural education. Our pilot scheme already supports 240 children and 8 teachers, and on our trip we will be visiting an additional two schools to increase this number.
Our charity partners, Sustainable Cambodia, have been our local connection to the community gardens and students - and we are super excited to meet them in person. When we get to the schools ourselves, we will be working alongside Sustainable Cambodia, seeing our teams work in action.
We can't wait to be there and to immerse ourselves in all of the work that we've only been connected to remotely so far.
So have a read of our blog posts over the next couple of weeks, and follow our Instagram @growenactusexeter, for regular updates of our 10 day trip.
Lots of Love,
Romy and Toni
